Uwf-1 connection issues
I purchased the UWF-1 and installed on my TX-NR609 and it is unable to pick up a signal from my router (cisco E1200). I updated the formware and it still comes with failed connection, no access point??? Other wireless devices pick up my router signal fine......what now?

Re: Uwf-1 connection issues
Hi hdfx,
I would like for you to perform a test to see if the issue is with the UWF-1. Can you disconnect the UWF-1 and connect an ethernet cable to the back of the receiver to your router. If you are able to connect using the cable then we will know the issue is with the UWF-1. Thank you for contacting Product Support via our forum!

Hi
Then that confirms that the issue is within the adapter. Please contact our parts and service department about a replacement: (201) 785-2600, option 4.
Thank you for choosing Onkyo!

Re: Uwf-1 connection issues
Hi hdfx,
Please perform the latest firmware update on your reciever, this allow the UWF-1 to work properly with your reciever. After performing the firmware please perform a factory reset. There's some important information you need to know before performing the reset, please read our blog post on the subject. It will also tell you how to do it: http://onkyousacustomersupportblog.wordpress.com/2011/09/12/factory-reset/

Hi hdfx,
The UWF-1 only works with a "visible" network. Could it be that your network is hidden?

Re: Uwf-1 connection issues
No....it is visible by other wireless devices. Last night after removing the UWF-1 from the USB port I lost all signal to the TV (from all sources). I was forced to complete another factory reset to regain signal and the UWF-1 picked up the network for a short time but kicked me out and now will not find the signal again and acts exactly like before. Perhaps a better option would be to return the UWF-1 and install a wirelss bridge.................

Re: Uwf-1 connection issues
Hi hdfx,
Any security settings you may have on your router could possibly be interrupting the signal. You may want to contact the maker of your router to see if they can help troubleshoot this situation for you. Thank you.

Re: Uwf-1 connection issues
have decided to return the UWF-1 and purchase a wireless bridge for connecting the 609 via ethernet.

Re: Uwf-1 connection issues
We apologize that the UWF-1 did not work for you and that we were not able to correct the issue completely. Thank you for contacting Onkyo via our forum, if you have any other questions please ask.
Exact Same Issue
I am having the exact same issue with the exact same hardware (except I have a Linksys AP). I have gone through all the steps outlined here but have had no luck correcting the issue whatsoever.
Any help on this would be great!
Thanks

Re: Uwf-1 connection issues
to jtbgoode....
I have resigned to using a wireless bridge / ethernet in place of the UWF-1. However, it was recommended to me by another source to try configuring your router to WEP security instead of WPA or WPA2....thi shas apparently worked for others who were having the same issue.

Hi CCoolor,
Since you have tried troubleshooting the situation with the suggestions in this forum the next step would be to call into product support and have them walk you through some steps: 1-800-229-1687. They are here from 9am to 8pm today. Thank you for choosing Onkyo.

Having same issue - c'mon Onkyo, give us a real solution
This is getting ridiculous. Tons of people have reported this very same issue online. ONKYO - you need to figure this out and give us some real answers here. Telling people to reset their AVR's or exchange the dongles is a colossal waste of their time, and insult to our intelligence.
It's about time we get some real support and some real answers.
Personally, I am considering returning the dongle and the AVR over this absurdity. I expect that when I spend hundreds of dollars for a piece of supposedly high end equipment, that it works. And simply.
