TX-NR709 network error question
I love my new reciever. I am, however, having trouble getting the computer to connect to it. I have the reciever and computer connected with an ether net cable. When I go into my window media player, this is the error that I get.

The computer and reciever are connected, is there a setting that I am missing?

Hi kevinsoren,
Are you attempting the use the computer to stream the audio files to the receiver? If so you will need to put in a static IP along with a cross over cable to make this successful.

Yes, I have the IP address the same on the reciever and the computer. The "cross over cable" are you referring to the Ethernet Cable? If so, yes I have the reciver connected to the computer with an Ethernet Cable. The computer recognizes the reciever.

Hi kevinsoren,
Is it a static IP? These are usually either given from the router or from your ISP. Cross over cables and ethernet cable are not really the same.

I will check the static IP address when I get home tonight. Here is the cable that I have to connect the computer to the reciever. Please let me know if this is not the right cable or if I need something else.

Hi kevinsoren,
It appears to be the correct type cable. How's the Static IP going by the way?

Re: TX-NR709 network error question
The number were the same on the address. The computer recognizes the reciever, and appears to be communicating with it. I am not sure if there is just one setting on either the computer side, or the reciever side that is causing the problem. I was not sure if the error message that I originally posted would help key you in on what I do not have set correct. I will be working more with it this weekend.

Hi kevinsoren,
Have you tried to reboot your router? Also make sure that you have no other devices playing. This error message is generated by your Windows computer.

One other thing just to make sure I am working this receiver correctly, I need to have it on "PC" when I am trying to listen to music from the Windows Media Player.

I got it. I did not select DNLA on the NET function. That was the problem. Thanks for the suggestions.
