Tx-NR709 Volume question
Hi there,
I bought the onkyo Tx-NR709 for 2-3 months already but i haven't had a chance to play with it that much. My question is when i watch movie via the Blue-ray player I have to set up the volume at least 60-70 dbs in order to here to sound loud enough,is that normal? and another question is my iphone onkyo's app cannot detect my receiver ( I use wireless connection for my receiver) but the receiver itself can play the internet radio with no problem.The last question is I have tried to update firmware through the receiver function but it always stop at 79% no matter how many times I try. Thank you for your response.

Hi Plakapook,
Working backwards in answering your questions. How are you attempting the firmware update, hardwired or wireless? Are there any firewalls up when trying the firmware update? Next answer is the update needs to be done for the iPhone app to work. And lastly it is normal for the units’ volume to be that high, but there are adjustments that can be made such as raising the level calibration or volume for the individual speakers.

I finally managed the firmware updating now the firmware version is 1111-1077-0211-1105 but still the iphone app can't detect my receiver. Any suggestion? Thank you very much

Hi Plakapook,
Glad to hear you finally got the firmware update to work. Please delete and reinstall the app to see if that works.

Thanks for the response, I did deleted the app and reinstall but still the app cannot detect my receiver. Any more suggestions?

The internet radio is still working without any problem, that's why i wonder how come the app cannot detect my receiver.

Are you using our UWF-1 wireless adapter and if so what does the signal strength say on the receiver?
