tx-sr601 audio issue with PS3

Looking for info on why my receiver is not accepting the AAC Dolby Digital signal from my PS3 when watching an HD movie downloaded from the Sony Playstation Store. The display shows a signal being received but nothing comes out of the speakers.

Do you get audio in any other listening modes? The TX-SR601 was never designed to be able to accept an AAC file or audio format. On our newer models they are able to accept this format such as the TXsr608 and above.

I do get the Dolby Digital display on the receiver but no sound. I can switch to other sound modes but that really isn't the answer. Is there any way of working around the AAC Dolby Digital audio file format like a firmware or chip upgrade?

No firmware update will make it perform the way you want it and if a new chipset were to be installed by the time you get done with all that's involved in this setup and the money it would cost then it would probably be cheaper to purchase one of our newer models that support it.
