TX-NR809 Optical 1/2 no audio

Hello,

I just purchased a used 809 in like-new condition. I checked its serial number and it's not under the recall. I just updated to the latest firmware. Everything seems to be working normally except I'm having trouble getting audio into either of the back panel optical inputs. I have successfully transmitted audio to the front panel (AUX) input from the same source (my iMac via mini TOSLINK to TOSLINK cable).

I have tried multiple input assignments, including TV/CD. I assigned digital audio to them (Optical 1/2). I tried both PCM and direct settings. Still no audio. The PCM led on the front panel flashes though, so it seems the unit is not receiving sync from the back inputs.

Am I missing something?

Hi encephalon,

It may be the converter cable even though it may work on the front AUX jack it may or may not work on the jacks in the rear. Can you try this setup with another source such as DVD player with an Optical out and use a standard Optical cable as well just to test?
