onkyo tx-nr709 left speaker pops
Has anyone had a issue where watching Netflix the left speaker will make a popping sound every once in a while, it could be 30 minutes or an hour or even longer in between. Have not seen this issue yet while listening to music, DVD or cable TV. I did the firmware today, but have had not time to test Netflix I was just wanting to ask if this has come up on other 709's?

Hi lefty63,
How do you have your Netflix audio connected the receiver and where is it coming from, such as TV or Blue-Ray player?

Network is connected to the TV for Netflix and and TV is using ARC for the return sound to the receiver which works from the TV/CD function.

Hi lefty63,
Do you use the ARC for any other functions from your TV and if so do you get the same results as you do with Netflix?

No I have not tried any other ARC functions from the TV. I watched Netflix for 2 hours last night and it never popped once maybe the firmware update fixed it, keeping my fingers crossed. I'll update later as I have more time to watch Netflix and report the results.
Thanks

To lefty63,
That's great news. Yes, keep us posted on this and thank you for choosing Onkyo.

Re: onkyo tx-nr709 left speaker pops
Well the popping returned. I have switched speakers with same result and I used Netflix from my DVD player last night and same pop every once in a while. I have checked the speaker connections and everything is tight and the speaker wire gauge is good. I'm beginning to wonder is something is wrong with the receiver just not sure why we only hear it through Netflix at this point??
I bought the receiver on 3/5/12 and wonder if I should return it before my 30 days are up, but only if Onkyo thinks it's the receiver?

Hi lefty63,
If this is only happening when you play Netflix and all other devices are fine then it is my belief the Onkyo is fine. Even if you do return it you stand the chance of having the same thing happen again.

Hi lefty63,
If it went from just Netflix to your cable then I would return it for an exchange provided you're within your exchange period of the dealer.
