how to turn off TV when tuner is in??

I recently bought a nr709 receiver and when I turn on the receiver the tv automatically turns on... when i turn off the tv it then shuts off the receiver.. I want to have just the receiver on and not looking at a blue screen on my samsung tv. please help

Hi akaplay,
Please go to "setup => Hardware setup => HDMI and turn the RIHD(HDMI control) to off/disable. This should take care of that issue.
