TX-NR609 ethernet network connection suddenly lost

Post  EVLHSV on Fri Feb 10, 2012 3:23 pm

Hi, I got this receiver new a couple of weeks ago and successfully setup the ethernet network and iPhone Remote2 app. It connected instantly when I plugged in the Ethernet cable. It had been working well until I tried to get internet radio working yesterday. Now I can’t see the receiver on the Remote2 app, and when I tried to update firmware it came up with a no connection error. I’m guessing I have changed one of the settings while trying to get internet radio working... any ideas???

Hi EVLHSV,

Do you get an valid ip address from your router when the "no connection" error comes up? To find the ip address go to setup then hardware setup then network....

In setup the IP address says 0 0 0 0 so I guess not?

Is DHCP set to Enable? If so, the values in setup may be zeroed because they are not used. (They are dynamically set with numbers provided by your router.)

If you accidentally disabled DHCP without setting valid values, that could be your problem. Reenabling DHCP and saving the settings would get you back on the network in this case.

Good luck,

Hi EVLHSV,

Here is what I'd like for you to try, first disconnect the ethernet cable from the back of the receiver, second, unplug to the receiver from the power. If you can reset your router/modem (be aware that if you do not feel comfortable with this please contact your router manufacturer). In this sequence (provided you reset the router/modem) plug this device in and wait for it to complete its process then plug the receiver in and before you plug in the ethernet cable I'd like for you to reset the receiver. To do the reset you need to turn the receiver on, then on the front panel of the receiver press and hold the "VCR/DVR" button while doing that press the "STANDBY/ON" button. You will see the word "Clear" in the display screen and the receiver will go into standby mode. PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT YOU WILL LOSE ALL YOUR AUDIO & VIDEO ASSIGNMENTS ON THE RECEIVER PLUS YOU WILL LOSE ALL YOUR SPEAKER CONFIGURATIONS, SPEAKER DISTANCE AND ALL LEVEL CALIBRATION SETTINGS. YOU WILL ALSO LOSE ANY PROGRAMMED RADIO STATIONS IN MEMORY. Once the receiver goes into standby mode turn it back on and go thru the setup menu for all custom settings. Give this a try and let us know how it works for you.
