Using coaxial connection with TX-NR609
I just purchased a TX-NR609 receiver and looking at the picture online I saw an input for a coaxial connection. Upon setting it up I realized it was only for the radio antenna and not a video input. My apartment building is wired for cable and it's just a coaxial jack in the wall for an F connector. I would like to use my receiver for the cable but don't know what my options are. I know the easy answer would be to just upgrade my cable but I'm moving in 4 month and it's not worth it. Do you have any suggestions?

Hi again,
Please connect an OPTICAL or DIGITAL COAXIL from the DIGITAL OUT on the back of your TV to the DIGITAL IN on the TX-NR609. Thank you for choosing Onkyo.

coaxial output from Cable Sat box to Reciever Tx-Nr609
I have a dual Dish Receiver, One output is going from the Dish Receiver to the TV ( HDMI Output). Another output is coaxial cable which i am trying to put to the TX_NR609 receiver but Receiver does not have the Coaxial video input. I used and F coaxial to RCA adapter plug and plugged to VIdeo IN (cab/sat) on receiver but the video is not coming. What should i do to convert the Coaxial video output so that i can connect to the receiver.

Re: Using coaxial connection with TX-NR609
Hi gshori19,
The only thing I can think of is to either get an RF modulator or use a VCR to convert the signal. Either way depending on the signal strength it may or may not work.

Coaxial to RCA convertor
All the modulators I have seen so far convert the RCA/S video or composite video to the COxial cable. Can you please recomend which modulator or demodulator we can convert the coaxial video as INPUT and RCA/Composite as Output.
Thanks

Re: Using coaxial connection with TX-NR609
Hi gshori19,
We do not recommend any 3rd party manufacturer as that will have to be researched by the customer. But I have personally have seen them in Radio Shack.

Coaxial to RCA convertor
I visited Radio Shack and online also I researched. The modulators I am seeing have the input as RCA/Composite/S-video and Output as Coaxial (TV Out).
I can understand you can not recommend and 3rd party product on the forum. but please give me an example or amazon link where i can refer to and purchase the same.
Appreciate your help on this

Depending upon the dual DISH reciever, it may have several outputs, all are HOT. You should be able to use the HDMI as you described and use either the component, composite outputs to the Onkyo. I have a DISH 222. I am using all three outputs on the DISH for different things; TV, Onkyo, other TV and VCR
Hope this helps.

coaxial output from Cable Sat box to Reciever Tx-Nr609
Hi
we can use the output from the Dish receiver to the onkyo input receiver but my receiver is dual receiver and the onkyo receiver is another room where the coaxial cable is avaialble. SO now my problem is fixed as I put the VCR on the other room and connected my Coaxial cable to the vcr and took RCA output from the VCR to input into the onkyo receiver, Now I can watch the DISH TV on the projector/Screen connected through my onkyo receiver.
