Like many others on this and other forums, I have a TX-NR1007 that I purchased in early 2010 that has now dropped all audio. I do not use the unit frequently, maybe 2-3x a week, which is probably why it lasted longer than those that others have since this issue rears its head in as little as several months after purchase it seems.

For the past few months, I had to power cycle the unit a few times to get audio back, but now it won't produce any audio from any source- HDMI/tuner/Audyssey- regardless of how many times I power cycle (unplug unit, let sit 5 minutes, plug in, power on) or reset to factory settings. It also no longer recognizes any network options. It's connected to my router with a good 3-ft cable, but the network options are grayed out, and when I select Network mode (iRadio) it just says "Now Initializing..." for eternity.

I've researched this problem and come to find out that this is a known issue with many Onkyo receivers that likely is the result of a defective HDMI board component. I'm well aware that the unit is out of warranty, however I think Onkyo should stand behind their $1500 product for more than a brief 24 months since this is a reported issue.

Following some other threads, I called the Parts & Service department directly and requested an out-of-warranty repair to be authorized and was told by Michael Watson to email him with the unit's serial # and receipt. I did so but have not heard anything back, so wanted to post here as well to see if any moderator can follow up.

I'm extremely disappointed in this company and will not hesitate to recommend to others that they not buy any Onkyo products.

Thank you, but I have not been contacted by anyone (and also live in VA, not FL). Please check with the rep again, or let me know if I should get in touch with someone else.
