TX-SR602 sound and remote control issues. Empty TX-SR602 sound and remote control issues.

I have had this receiver for about 9 years without any issues. Now I have sound for DVD, tuner, CD, but I can not get sound for cable TV. I have tried to reset the receiver and that did not help. Any suggestions?

Secondly, I just had to change the batteries in my remote control and now it lights up, but no longer works with the receiver or DVD. Any help is appreciated.
