I really would like to purchase this unit. It is on sale right now for $389.00, but after reading about these units there's no way my money will be spent on one. Why not send me one for free and if it works I'll gladly pay even more for it. What do you think ONKYO, any trust in your product?

I just had to add to those customers having problems. I feel bad for you folks. I hope ONKYO does the right thing and fixes, recalls or refunds.

Come on Onkyo, I really want to purchase a TXNR616. Can you convince me to do so? What about your refurbished units, they probably suffered all the usual problems, have they been repaired, boards replaced, current updates downloaded and then tested? Are there new receivers that have current updates, been tested and work. I don't want to suffer the consequences of hurting myself if I buy one of these and the usual problems occur. What say you Onkyo?

The latest firmware update has improved the HDMI VIDEO ISSUE on the TX-NR 515 and TX-NR 616 receivers. We have actively monitored customer feedback from AV installers and customers alike; who has expressed their satisfaction with the latest firmware update. We have also answered those recently expressing their comments about the firmware update and found that the issue routinely involves further evaluation and proper downloading of the latest firmware update. Your concerns are understandable, however since this forum is limited to providing support to our current ONKYO customers who need assistance setting up their receivers or are having issues with their current receivers, it seems that you concerns can be better answered via email to askonkyo@us.onkyo.com.
