Zone 2 and 3 powered outputs OK to use if 7.2 is all from preouts?
If I connect a TX-NR717 up using all preamp outs for a 7.2 system can I use the speaker outputs for powered Zone 2 and 3 and not loose the 7.2? The manual states that you cannot use the surrounds or the rear with zone 2 and 3 with powered outputs but it does not say anything in regard to use of preamp outs.

Unfortunetly that would not work because once you go into the setup menu and activate zone 2/3 it will cancel out the output from the preouts for your surrounds. I would suggest you power your zone 2/3 with a seperate amp. and use the receiver to power your main listening area speakers.
