Can I use a transformer with a TX-NR1009
Hi,
My girlfriend is about to move to South Africa from Canada where we have 220-240v and she has a Onkyo TX-NR1009 which she would like to bring over, would it be possible to use a step transformer to run the receiver on 220v?
Thanks

Re: Can I use a transformer with a TX-NR1009
All US models operate on 120v- he'd need to purchase from the ONKYO International website- as their models do operate on 220-240v. Any unauthorized modification of he receiver's power supply will directly void the manufacturer's warranty. Although it is not recommended by Onkyo to do so for performance standards; using a voltage converter to provide power to the receiver is an option- but can cause potential and permanent damage of the internal components of the receiver.
