Connecting the AV Receiver to Internet

When I conect the ethernet cable to my lap top and to the back of the receiver TX-NR808 internet radio works fine, but when I connect an ethernet cable to the back of the receiver and the router Iget nothing. Any sugestions?

Your laptop has probably used DHCP to connect to the network. I believe that if you enable DHCP in the avr, all should be fine. The caveat to this is whether your routers DHCP is enabled. If not. you might be set up using a static IP address. If that is the case case you will have to set up the connection manually, just like you, or someone else, did with the laptop initially.

I used the wifi usb dongle and had 0 problems.
