Onkyo Receiver with Tape I/O Ports
TX-SR505 has ability to connect a Tape Deck on back. Just purchased TX-SR309 which seems to not allow a Tape Deck hookup as there are no ports. Need Receiver which enables the following hookups:
A). Pioneer Multi-Cassette
B). Hitachi Video Deck
C). JVC Compact Disc Automatic Changer
D). Samsung Blu-ray Disc Player
E). Samsung Plasma TV
F) Bose Acoustimas 600 HomeTheater
I don't want to use the front aux ports to connect the Tape Deck as they are used to operate a turntable.
The TX-SR309 Receiver was recommended as a replacement for the TX-SR505 not long ago by Onkyo support.

Tape Deck Model#
Pioneer Model (CT-M55R)
Also run a NILES (SPS-4 Speaker Selection system from the A/B ports on the back.
The TX-SR505 A/B ports became defected thus the reason for the purchase of the TX-SR309.
Perhaps it would be practical to have the TX-SR505 repaired if there was a repair location near Cinn, OH.
Thx for your quick reply.
Tim
PS: Run speakers throughout most of house & pool area.

Looking forward to your msg!
Enjoy the evening & I will look forward to your input tomorrow.
I just searched ONKYO's Service Dealers & the closet one to me is in MI. I don't think the TX-SR505 will be getting repaired as that is about a 500 Mi distance.

Re: Onkyo Receiver with Tape I/O Ports
Hi Tim,
Currently the only receiver that has a tape input and out on back of it is the stereo receiver TX-8050. Your tape deck can connect to any of the audio inputs on our receiver. The TX-NR609 reciever would best fit your needs, it will allow you to connect all your devices directly to the reciever and use one HDMI cable from the receiver to the TV. Although it does not have a tape input on it, you can connect your tape deck to the TV/CD or PC input. Thank you for your patience and for choosing Onkyo!

8050 Tape I/O ports for connecting signal processors
Can I use these Tape I/O ports as a 'loop' to connect or insert signal processors, like an EQ or Compressor/Limitor, into the system? My speakers and room (and my ears!) really 'enjoy' using a RTA'd EQ.
I was able to do it fine on my old Onkyo TX-DS656. I just purchased a TX-8050 stereo receiver and expect to be able to do the same thing.
Another question: Are the digital inputs (optical and/or coaxial) signals sent thru the Tape I/O, or Tape Monitor loop? On my DS656 I used the analog inputs, and it sounded and worked fine, but I thought it might be fun to see if I could use the digital inputs on the TX-8050 for my BluRay player and my DirectTV, but I want everything to go thru the signal processors connected to the Tape I/O Monotor loop before going into the amp and speakers.
Also, does the 'Pure Sound' feature work with the Tape Monitor loop? I see it bypasses the tone controls, but does it also bypass the tape monitor loop?
Whew! Thanks.
