New TX-NR717 - No Network, No Firmware Empty New TX-NR717 - No Network, No Firmware

I just received a new TX-NR717 and I have no network (grayed out) or firmware upgrade options. The rest of the functions seem to work OK. How do I get this fixed?

Do you have an ethernet cable plugged into the unit or the wifi adapter plugged into the usb port? Pretty sure it will remain grey until you have an internet connection. If you download the firmware to a flash drive with a pc and then plug it into the unit. It should upgrade the firmware.

Same thing happened to me. USB and Network was dead on arrival. I had to send it back.

Using a wired connection. Plugging USB stick into either port does nothing.

Please contact our Product Support Team at 800-229-1687, they can do some troubleshooting with your over the phone so that we can get to the bottom of the problem. Please have the serial number avaialble when you call.

Just got off the phone with support and they were able to get firmware update option to be available by having me do a factory reset! Hopefully after the update finished the network will be available as well...Thank you for the quick response.... Very Happy

Had the same problem but seem solved now. This is what I did

- Turned off the reciever;
- Disconnected everything from my reciever except composite video and analog audio to TV (I do not think the last matters much);
- Turned on the reciever;
- Factory Reset: Hold down ´CBL/SAT' button and press ´STANDBY/ON´ button. The message ¨CLEAR¨ shows up in the display and the receiver turns off;
- Turn on the reciever;
- You are now back to Factory Settings

Now I could seen more options in the SETUP menu. Network connection with DHCP was establised and could detect external USB stick.
Also the option for Firmware Update is now available. Now I´m doing update via network connection. So far so good.
