My update completed successfully via a wired ethernet connection. Total time 20 minutes. The second download/update failed during the write process twice. I thought to myself maybe I should have waited. Then I figured this had to have been tested with a very high success rate for them to release it. The third time it went through and completed. The new android app works as advertised. Home Media does not. Did not test any of the new codecs.

Hi sranger3,

We are glad that the update went well for you. In case you had questions on what exactly the home media function does here it is:

Home Media was added as a network option and is similar to that of the DLNA option.

Home Media supports Samba Servers which have more flexibility on compatible file format than DLNA servers. While they have greater flexibility with file format support, they do not allow you to see by artist, songs, albums as you can with the DLNA option.

I updated my 515 via USB and it went smoothly. I can't comment yet on features/fixes, but it didn't brick my unit.

As best as I can tell my update went fine via Ethernet for my NR616. I haven't tested any of the features yet so I can't comment on how or if the upgrade actually fixed anything.

Update went fine for me via USB. I knew buying the unit that many people were reporting problems so I did not update until now even though I had the "no HDMI out of standby" issue. This was the first update I executed and have not had any problems at all since.
