TX-NR515 Blu Ray video problem! Empty TX-NR515 Blu Ray video problem!

I just purchased the new 515 and everything works great except one thing. I have my cable box and Blu Ray hooked up via HDMI. When I select Blu Ray as the input i can hear the audio but I get no video. Black screen with some scrambled lines floating. However the cable box works just fine hooked up the same way. I hooked up the same blu ray to another tv with the same cable and it works fine. it worked fine being hooked up directly to the tv before I upgraded my receiver. Any ideas?

Sorry...I should have posted that right away. It is a Sony BDP-S370. I made sure that it and the receiver had the latest firmware as of yesterday 5/7/12.

Hi pjose,

We have not had any issues with this model of Sony player. Is it possible that the blue ray player has some sort of screen saver that's not acting correct?

OK. I reset the factory defaults on the blu ray player and hooked it back up to the receiver. I now see the start up language selection and begin the setup process. As the player is setting the resolution automatically the scrambled floating lines reappear. If i leave it alone a screen comes back on asking if I saw the test screen. Nope. If it helps i have a hitachi 51f500 tv. The receiver is hooked up via a hdmi to dvi cable to the tv.

After some more trial and error I was able to set the resolution on the Blu Ray player to 1080i, which is the max res on my tv. Everything seems to be working fine now. Thank you for your help.
