net problems
after initial setup my tx8050 found my computer (server?) & played music from media player 11. everything worked well.
1. changed wired routers, four port to an eight port & a software update.
2. then started getting: [computer name]:"no item"; googled to no avail
3. tried a firmware (software?) update, got an "error 0-13 / dns error"-----unit locked up; had to cycle power to get out
4. now when i try to access computer i get: "dlna / no server": error
5. "net" is not flashing & router shows connection also.
any ideas?
thank you,
ed c

Re: net problems
Hi MREDDC,
Have you exhausted all the possibilities on page 4 of the firmware update procedures?

Hi MREDDC,
Try to see if your router is giving the TX-8050 an ip address. To do this go to setup on the receiver then "network setup" then look for an ip address in this submenu, it will or should start with 192.xxx.xxx.xxx

Re: net problems
Hi Ed,
Okay, being that you have a new router it may not be seeing the 8050. What I'd like for you to try is reset the TX-8050 and try the connection again. To do the reset you need to turn the receiver on, then on the front panel of the receiver press and hold the "Tuning Mode" button while doing that press the "STANDBY/ON" button. You will see the word "Clear" in the display screen and the receiver will go into standby mode. PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT YOU WILL LOSE ALL YOUR AUDIO & VIDEO ASSIGNMENTS ON THE RECEIVER PLUS YOU WILL LOSE ALL YOUR SPEAKER CONFIGURATIONS, SPEAKER DISTANCE AND ALL LEVEL CALIBRATION SETTINGS. YOU WILL ALSO LOSE ANY PROGRAMMED RADIO STATIONS IN MEMORY. Once the receiver goes into standby mode turn it back on and go thru the setup menu for all custom settings.

before trying this it found the server (computer) but listed "no item". after clearing & setup it found the same ip addresses, etc. & now comes up "no server". unless you have another idea will try the original router & then report back
thanks,

Re: net problems
Hi MREDDC,
If the old router does not work please contact the routers manufacture, possibly a 2nd tier support person to run you through some diagnostics on the router.
