Setup the NR579 with PS3
Hi All
I really hope you guys can help (and I hope you understand my english ;o) )
I have bought the NR579 receiver .. Nice toy with A LOT of setup options :-)
But I have problems getting my PS3 sound to work. I have connected the PS3 with an HDMI. In the PS3 menu i have choosen the BD/DVD Audio Output Format (HDMI) to Bitstream. My problem is that my games do not play Dolby Digital. The receiver just show PCM and All Ch Stereo. and alle my speakers play the same sound. When i'm playing af Bluray movie the receiver shows DTS or DOLBY D and the sound is great.
What am I missing ?? Is there a setup and should change ??
I have the newest Firmware on the receiver
I hope you can help me and that you understand what i am trying to explain.
I am looking forward to your Reply's

Re: Setup the NR579 with PS3
Hi Queenyard,
You are not doing anything incorrect this is the way the receiver is designed, it only decodes what it gets in so that would mean that the games you are trying to play either need to be set to output the proper audio or the PS3 needs to be set to something other than how it is setup currently. Since the regular blue ray plays fine then logically the receiver is set correctly.
