TX-SR508 Blueing Screen
I have a Model TX-SR508, great unit when it works correctly. It is 8 months old and since new it has been having the same problem. While watching Telivision the screen will go blue, sometimes it will just flash blue and others I have to turn the unit off and back on to get he screen back. This happens with Cable Box and Blue Ray. The Unit was professionaly intalled. It has a 30' HDMI Cable from unit to TV. My installer first thought it was the HDMI cable so he replaced it that did not work so then blamed my TV. I have unhooked the Onkyo unit from the system and am watching HD Cable and no blue screen so I know it is nothing wrong with the TV. Now the installer is saying that the HDMI Cable that he installed is to long, I think he is making excuses. It would cost me a lot of money to relocate my equipment. Could someone shed some light on this?
Thanks,
Brad

Brad

Re: TX-SR508 Blueing Screen
Hi Brad,
It is possible that the length of the HDMI cable could be causing the problem. We have a blog post with an HDMI checklist that may help you troubleshoot the issue. http://onkyousacustomersupportblog.wordpress.com/2011/09/13/the-hdmi-checklist/
The 3rd step on the checklist is a factory reset if you decide to do that here is all the information you would need to know: http://onkyousacustomersupportblog.wordpress.com/2011/09/12/factory-reset/
If you have any other questions please ask. Thanks for choosing Onkyo!

Thanks, I will try the Booster. If indeed it is the problem; should I run a short cable strait out the unit put booster inline then the long cable?
