TX-NR609 with Pandora iPhone App "waiting for data"
I have installed many of these receivers for our clients. However this receiver works great for 5 minutes using the iPhone app for Pandora. Then it locks up and says "waiting for data" on the app. If you unplug the receiver, and re-connect with iPhone it work great for the first selection. It shows all the Pandora selections, once you select a playlist it works, but soon as you go back and try to change it it says "waiting for data" sometimes it will show up 10 minutes later, most often it never does. We have done a factory reset, installed new router, reloaded the app tried other phones and called tech support (by the way was not a good experiance) anybody have any ideas? Onkyo wkat do you think?

I assume you are asking if wifi versus 3g, the answer is wifi! I guess you did not read the beginning of my post that stated it works for the first load of Pandora then after the playlists is selected and you try to go to another playlist or anything else it just says "waiting for data" which means I had to use wifi for it to work the first time!

no hard wired to switch, as stated before also tried directly to router same problems each way,

Hi dbendell,
Since you did not say which app you were using such as the one on our remote2 app or the actual pandora app I will need to know which one you are using in order to determine what the issue is.

we have tried both onkyo apps currently using remote2 but both did the same thing.

iphone 3 and i have the iphone 4, by the way we just experimented with the old onkyo app and the new onkyo2 app with our shop demo. it appears that the problem is in the onkyo app2 because it also says "waiting data" proble is we need the onkyo2 app because it has zone 2, so your tech gurus need a fix fast.

integra app does the samething, the only app that works correct is the old onkyo app, just tried all three and onkyo app2 and integra fail the test "waiting data" message forever

The test in our lab was successful using the iPhone4 and the remote2 app without any updates or configurations to either the router or the phone. It was run for over an hour without any disruptions.

Well if my customers house does it, and our store does it, Using 2 on 2 seperate networks, routers enviroments, and the old app works perfectly fine, what is the answer of why it says 'waiting data" on these newer apps? Is there a bad batch of receivers out there? Anybody else having this issue or these the only 2 receivers in the USA having this issue?

Possible Fix
I had the same issue, I just did a firmware update and it fixed the problem. Try that and see if that works.
