HT-R550. No sound from my Ps3 via optical cable.

Hi, i have an older Ht-R550 onkyo receiver. I am trying to get sound from my ps3 to the receiver via optical cable. But no matter what I do, i cannot get it to play sound. Any ideas?

Please make sure that you have gone into the PS3 sound settings and have assigned the audio to be sent out via the optical connection. Also note that you will also want to go into the Onkyo's setup menu and assign the source to the optical connection.
