Is TX-8050 Class D? Empty Is TX-8050 Class D?

Post  dac0964 Sat Aug 18, 2012 8:37 pm

The manual and marketing material for the TX-8050 doesn't say what kind of topology the amp inside is. I've been wondering if it's a class D or A/B.
Anyone have a clue?

Unfortunately; this is proprietary information that is not that I can't provide an answer for general purposes.

Cordially;

Is TX-8050 Class D? Empty Proprietary??

Post  dac0964 Wed Aug 22, 2012 6:17 pm

I don't understand what is proprietary about the amp's topology. All you have to say is whether the amp is class D or A/B and these topologies are pretty well known. There is no secret to them. Unless what you're saying is Onkyo discovered a unique topology not known by any other amplifier manufacturer then I would understand the need to protect that information. By the way, I own a TX-8050 and tha's why I'm interested to know.
