Help with TX-8050 Empty Help with TX-8050

Post  walker2713 Tue May 01, 2012 8:38 pm

I'm trying to login to Pandora with this unit, and when I try to give my email address, I can't find the ampersand "@"??

I'm sure I'm missing something simple or obvious, but at this point I'm stuck.

Thanks,

George

Hi George,
Please hit the shift key to get the @ symbol. Thank you for choosing Onkyo.

Help with TX-8050 Empty Shift Key?

Post  walker2713 Wed May 02, 2012 5:25 pm

I"m inputing the information using my remote control....if there's a shift key, I can't find it.

Are you suggesting that I can communicate with the unit using my laptop?

Thanks

Hi walker2713,

You will find the "shift" key on the unit where you input your email address. I believe you will need to press the down arrow on the remote to get to the "shift key". Keep in mind that once the "@" is entered you must go back to the "Shift" key and press it again to return to normal.

Help with TX-8050 Empty ??

Post  walker2713 Wed May 02, 2012 6:11 pm

When you say "the unit" are you referring to the remote, or the receiver box itself???

An RC-816S remote came with the receiver, and there's no "shift" key on it....

Thanks

Hi walker2713,

By unit I mean the receiver itself. There is no shift key on the remote "the shift key is found in the GUI (graphical user interface) on the receiver, same place you went to put in your email address.

I've been using the remote for set-up.....

How would I use the "graphical interface" on the receiver to do it??

Thanks for your patience......

Hi walker2713,

The same exact way you put your email address in to login to Pandora.

Hi walker2713,
The keypad shows up on the TV screen via the GUI (graphical user interface). Use the arrows on the remote or the front of the receiver to navigate through the menus and to use the keypad.
