TX-NR515, no video but audio on composite hook up
I have an N64, Dreamcast, and PS2 hooked up to my Onkyo through composite RCA cables (yellow, red, white). My TV is connected with the HDMI from the receiver (Onkyo TX-NR515). For about a month all have been working great, but just today my N64 will not show video but plays all the audio. I then checked the Dreamcast and PS2 which have the same set up through composite cables and they work just fine. Any suggestions will help, Thanks

Hi fcaputo4,
Please make sure that you have your sources resolution set to 480i for the video up-convert.

I have tried this but there is just a blue screen that shows up. The other two systems with the same hook up works great and the N64 worked no less than a week ago and it has stopped all of a sudden.

Hi fcaputo4,
Please try you N64 in the same input as the one that works and if the N64 still does not work then it may be the N64 that is the cause.

ok, I have also tried that and still get a blue screen. I then hooked up the N64 to a different TV directly and it works...

Hi fcaputo4,
So it's not the receiver. Have you contacted Nintendo on this?

not yet because just a week ago everything was working perfectly and neither the receiver nor the N64 seem to be defective, I just cant get the video to show on my TV through the receiver.

Re: TX-NR515, no video but audio on composite hook up
Hi fcaputo4,
May be the signal strength from the N64 to the receiver is too low for it to be able be up-converted out through the HDMI. Either way I would suggest a call or email to Nintendo for further assistance.
