HT-R390 remote stopped working Empty HT-R390 remote stopped working

My remote has stopped working.

Summary:

I've had the system for about 7 months, and the remote has worked just fine.

I had DISH installed today, and the remote worked fine immediately following the installation.

Shortly after the DISH installation, the remote simply stopped working (all functions). The batteries are good, and I can operate the receiver manually.


What the heck?

How do I do that?

OK, I found this in the owner's manual. I tried the remote ID on "1", "2", and "3". None of those worked.

It's impossible to adjust those features without the remote. I need the remote to get into "Setup" mode to make adjustments. The receiver will not recognize the remote, so I'm unable to adjust anything.

Hi Socnorb11,

If you connect the HDMI from the "OUT" on the back of the receiver then into the TV you will be able to press the "setup" button on the front of the receiver and then this should give you the on screen display on the TV.

There is no "setup" button on the receiver........... only on the remote.

If you look on the front over by that master volume right to the left of that you'll see another round circle labeled Tuning/preset then right below that you'll see 3 buttons labeled setup/enter/return. This information is in the manual on page 7 and is labeled number 11.

Is is possible that the remote has just stopped functioning? The lights and such on the remote still work fine........... it just has no interaction with the receiver.

This is a great receiver, by the way. I couldn't be happier with it. But without the ability to use the remote control, it's pretty useless.
