TX-NR509 - brand new - Check SP wire
I've just bought a brand new TX-NR509.
I can currently only attach the 2 front speakers and the central speaker. I have some more work to install the 2 surround speakers.
Probably something for next week or the week after.
I wanted to test my new system already with the current setup so I plugged in the network cable and played some music over DLNA. Worked perfectly.
One thing I noticed though was that my left front speaker was playing much softer than the right frontal speaker.
I checked the wiring and everything seemed OK, therefor I switched the speakers from position to ensure it was not a problem with the speakers.
It was always the speaker in the left position that played softer.
I reasoned it must have something to do with the setup in the receiver so I decided to do an automatic setup with Audyssey.
I could start the test but after the first two noises the receiver shut itself down. When I restarted the receiver I got "check SP wire".
According to the manual I unplugged all cables and I'm now waiting to restart the receiver.
I had no power outage so I'm quite worried about this...
Could you please advise me what could cause this problem. As stated I was only just installing the device and following the install instructions.

Re: TX-NR509 - brand new - Check SP wire
Hi kcaluwae,
If the unit is still shutting off when trying to that I would suggest returning it to the dealer for an exchange in you are within the dealers exchange period or the only other thing I can suggest is take or send it to an authorized service center for further evaluation.

Hi Renad3,
If the unit is shutting off then it is going in to amp protect and will need to be serviced. Authorized service centers can be found on our main page under support.
