Hi Guys!
I received my receiver yesterday. I connected the receiver to the TV through HDMI out, the receiver is hooked up to my 5.1 sound system. Everything seemed great until I decided to change the volume! When I turn the sound knob, the sound cuts out! The sound comes back 1-2 seconds after i reach my desired volume number. I'm sure this is not a default setting correct? What is the best way to handle this? My TV is a Sony NSX-46gt1. Both of them are HDMI 1.4 and my HDMI cable is relatively new. I'll check out so new ones today, but is there a setting?

Re: brand new tx-nr509
Hi,
I've reset the receiver. The problem is still exists. The only thing plugged into my receiver is the TV. My friend believes that it is because I am running everything through the HDMI out. I am using Netflix through my GoogleTV and my friend feels that it is causing the delay. Does it have anything to do with HDMI control?
-help!

Hi newHTowner,
The HDMI Out is for connecting your TV to the receiver. If you want to connect any other source to it please use the appropriate HDMI Inputs on the back of the receiver. Do you know if this receiver has the latest firmware update?

I will update it as soon as i get back tonight. I only have my TV connected to the receiver through HDMI out. The TV runs googletv platform it is where i watch netflix, youtube and pandora. I have not tested any other HDMI inputs yet, but i would like to get this problem resolved first.
Thanks again!
Thanks again!

So I updated the firmware and nothing was fixed. It still has the delay issue. Do you have any more potential solutions?

Re: brand new tx-nr509
my HDMI cord is only 3 feet long. I guess I am out of options eh? Do you think this is a product defect?

Hi newHTowner,
The last thing you can try would be test the speaker wires by using new or different wires. If this does not seem to correct the issue, please take it back and have it exchanged for a new one. Thank you for contacting Onkyo via our forum.
