TX-NR616 - "Check sp wire" Empty TX-NR616 - "Check sp wire"

Hi,

I have just bought this reciver 10 days ago.
in first, there was a Great sound and available features
while it was working.

While it worked I was in aural heaven. The sound was crisp
and full and it filled the room like I've never heard before.
I put on a Freeland CD and the quality of the music was truly
amazing. The Auddysey calibration was wonderful too.

After about 1 hour the receiver shut off. I turned it back on
and it shut off again. I turned it back on and it said 'Check
SP Wire'. So I assume I had some exposes wiring or something
somewhere. I ran through all of my connections and decided to
get some banana ends for my rears since there was a bit of
exposed wire there. I hooked everything back up and got the
same result.

Is there a problem with this particular Model?

First of all Thanks for your Answer.

second, the gauge is 12 (in walls, i have cables lengths maximum of 50 feet per speaker)
the impedance of all speakers is 8

all the speaker are connected now to my old jvc reciver without problems so it can"t be my speakers or cables problem.

as soon i get my revicer back i'll contact your Product Support Dept "when" and "if" i will any problem again.

Thank meantime....

Ok the reason why you are receiving this message is mainly because we recommend using up to 14 gauge speaker wires on our receivers to alleviate such issue. You can try using 14 gauge speaker wiring and notice this message should not appear.

No offense moderator, but that seems pretty unreasonable. Unless he's running thousands of feet of wire, 12 gauge should be fine. Besides it was working fine with 12 gauge prior to the error. Sorry, just seems suspect to me that a modern standalone AVR from a known company would not be able to drive 12 gauge wire.

We have noticed that 12 gauge speaker wiring are having this effect on the receiver. Only the professional series are equipped to handle 12 gauge speaker wirings with no issues.
