TX-NR709 - Right Wide output not working?
IT APPEARS THAT THE FRONT WIDE RIGHT AMP OUTPUT DOES NOT WORK.
I just received the unit. I connected the 7.1 speaker layout with Wides. I checked that the firmware is up to date.
During full MultEQ XT calibration the Left, Left Wide, and Center chirp but when it gets to Right Wide there is no sound emitted. I get an error. I did do the retry option (no change). I did the factory reset--no change. Using a multi-meter I checked that the speaker wire was good. I also swapped the two wide speakers. The left wide still chirps and the right wide does not (so I know the speakers themselves are okay). Here is the report after the error:
Left = Yes Right = -----
Surr Left = ----- Surr Right = -----
Fr Wd Left = Yes Fr Wd Right = No
Fr High Left = No Fr High Right = No
Sur Back Left = ----- Sur Back Right = -----
Center = Yes Sub = -----
Now if I simply disconnect the Fr Wide Left speaker and re-run the full calibration it picks up the 5.1 setup without a hitch (no chirp from Fr Wide Left because it's disconnected and no chirp from Fr Wide Right because the output on the amp is not working).
