Controlling my Roku Empty Controlling my Roku

Post  mstayner Sat Dec 24, 2011 7:05 pm

I have a TX-NR609 (which is AWESOME) and am looking for the remote control code for so that I can control my Roku using the Onkyo remote control.

Surely this must exist!

Max.

Well, I'd already checked there before posting this message. Roku is not listed.

What next? The Roku IS one of the single most promoted video related devices these days, so it would seem like a real omission for Onkyo NOT to support it.

Hi Max,
Unfortunately, since the code is not listed on our webiste, that means we do not have a remote code for the roku box. If that changes in the future we will keep you posted. Thank you for choosing Onkyo.

Controlling my Roku Empty No Code for ROKU???

Post  chascoop Fri Dec 30, 2011 1:29 am

Sorry, I had "Googled" the same question and was directed to this post.

Man am I disappointed Crying or Very sad

I'd think there were enough ROKU units out there to justify listing a code. I just wanted ONKYO to know MAX isn't the only one waiting on the code. Guess while I'm waiting I'll break out the trusty Harmony remote and go to work... Razz

Thanks for listening. Good luck Max. Smile

Please add me to the list of those who have:
a) Loved the features and sound quality of the TX-NR609
b) Replaced all remotes in the house, except the Roku (not currently supported with pre-programmed codes for remote)
c) Wanted to simplify the user experience with a single remote

Otherwise I'm a very satisfied customer. In fact, I joined the forum to cast my vote for Roku support. Please let me know if this becomes a reality. By the way the whole firmware update process and network connectivity are awesome! Fantastic work Onkyo.

+1 on needing a roku remote code (I have the TXNR-807). What is the best way to get notified on the code's availability? Thanks.

Hi Forum Users,
We do not have the information on a Roku code at this time. The best way to get current information from us would be to follow us on Facebook or Twitter. We will, of course, try to keep you updated on here as well. Thank you for your patience and thank you for choosing Onkyo.

I would also like to register my dismay at finding out that Roku is not supported.

I know this really doesn't help too much but I bought a Harmony Remote model 650. Fifty dollars at Amazon.com. I know this doesn't answer the OP but once you use one of these things you will never go back. It controls my TV, Onkyo 609, Sony Blu Ray and my Roku. It can automatically turn on and off my equipment based on what I want to watch. It also controls all of the features of all of my equipment.

You program it through your computer and the internet.

Like I said once you use one of these you will never go back.

Get a Harmony remote. Harmony supports all of them. You can get one for less than 50 bucks. I have Harmony One and Harmony 650 they both support Roku and Onkyo AVRs. Best thing for my home theater was to get one of these.
