Onkyo HT-S6300 Left Surround Channel Quiet
I tried hooking up a different speaker and still the left rear surround channel was much quieter then the others. There is about a 10db difference between the Left (quiet) speaker and right (normal) speaker.
Any Ideas?

Hi mach,
Have you run the Audyssey speaker setup on this unit yet? If so then this may be causing the low output from the receiver. I'd like for you to check the level calibration to see if this speaker is in fact at a lower decibel level then the others. To do this you would go to setup then speaker setup then level calibration.

Yes... I have done that. With the left speaker maxed out at +12db its still much quieter then the right one.
With both the right and left surrounds maxed out at +12db.. My db Meter at the remotes length (About 10inches) from the speaker shows 73db on the right and 62db on the left.
I also swapped speakers left to right and still the left channel is quieter.

Hi mach,
What is the total power that speaker can handle? Also have you tried to reset the unit? To do the reset you need to turn the receiver on, then on the front panel of the receiver press and hold the "VCR/DVR" button while doing that press the "STANDBY/ON" button. You will see the word "Clear" in the display screen and the receiver will go into standby mode. PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT YOU WILL LOSE ALL YOUR AUDIO & VIDEO ASSIGNMENTS ON THE RECEIVER PLUS YOU WILL LOSE ALL YOUR SPEAKER CONFIGURATIONS, SPEAKER DISTANCE AND ALL LEVEL CALIBRATION SETTINGS. YOU WILL ALSO LOSE ANY PROGRAMMED RADIO STATIONS IN MEMORY. Once the receiver goes into standby mode turn it back on and go thru the setup menu for all custom settings.
