Onkyo TX-NR509 remote Empty Onkyo TX-NR509 remote

Post  fergy5244 Mon May 21, 2012 11:49 pm

I just purchased a Onkyo TX-NR509 sounds great. I set up all the codes for my cable box,TV and blue ray player for the remote. The way I see it to watch TV I have to turn on the receiver then turn on the TV then turn on the cable box, then the reverse to turn everything off. Seems like a lot of steps just to watch TV. Even my cheap cable box remote turns on the TV and cable box with just one button. Maybe I am doing something wrong??? Any suggestions. Should I be looking for a universal remote? Thanks

Hi fergy5244,

Unfortunately on this remote you do not have the "all off" function like on our TX-NR709's remote which would allow you to turn off all of your devices. On the other hand if all of your devices have HDMI control on them you could utilize the feature on the receiver to turn all devices off provided they are connected with HDMI cables.
