TX-SR605 Turns Itself on after a power outage.

So I've had this receiver since 2008-ish. It's great, it sounds fantastic and is very functional. The only issue is that when the power blinks off (power outage in area), the receiver turns itself on when the power comes back on. Not too big a deal, except for when it happens in the middle of the night.
Does this happen with them all, or is mine just "special"? Is there a setting that can be adjusted/changed to fix this? This is used in the master bedroom system, so a person does not want to have to get out of bed to umplug it, nor have it come on in the middle of the night whilst sleeping...lol

Any ideas?

This will happen so it is not only you. We advise to unplug the power or use a surge protector.

Does a surge protector stop it from turning on, or is that a precaution to possible damage?
