Microphone does not work Empty Microphone does not work

I added some new speakers to my 709 & tried to run the Audessy setup & the it would not go past the first speaker without a error. I have a Microphone from a Denon AVR & tried it & it seemed to work perfectly.

Stupid question but are the Microphones the same? Will Onkyo send me another Microphone?

I called & got through.
E-mailed a copy of my receipt. They said I will receive a new mike.

I received what was suppose to be the Microphone & it is wrong. All it has is the base for something. It is black & the mike that came with the unit is silver. It would not work. Please don`t tell me to contact service & use option 4 again.
