CEC on NR609 Empty CEC on NR609

Post  riemerg Tue Mar 06, 2012 6:13 pm

I'm close to ordering a NR609, but I would like to get the following confirmation which I cannot find in the manual:
- can I control the input for zone2 over CEC?
- can I control the volume for zone2 over CEC?

Any help would be appreciated here.

Hi riemerg,

Unfortunately only devices connected to the receiver with HDMI may or may not be controlled using the CEC and zone-2 is an analog connection.

Thanks for the fast reply!

That's some bad news unfortunately.. however, I assume that if I set Zone2 to a specific input and volume, that this is not altered whenever I make changes to Zone1? Also, will Zone2 settings (source, volume) be kept after a powerOff-powerOn cycle?

Hi riemerg,

The The answer to your first question is "anything done to zone-1(main zone) will not affect zone-2.
The answer to your second question is, “As long as you do not turn zone-2 off it will stay where it is placed. If zone-2 is turned off then you will have to repeat the process over again.
