onkyo ht-rc 370 with startech st122hdmi2 not compatible?
Hello , I m new to this forum and I need your help.
I have a new onkyo ht-rc370 that look like not compatible with my hdmi splitter amplifier.
This is how I have tryto plug it
bluray - hdmi 3ft - onkyo htrc370 - hdmi 6ft - startech sti11hdmi2 - hdmi 6ft - lg tv = no signal
bluray - hdmi 3ft - onkyo htrc370 - hdmi 6ft lg tv = signal
bluray - hdmi 6ft - startech sti11hdmi2 - hdmi 6ft - lg tv = signal
bluray - hdmi 3ft - sony 570 - hdmi 6ft - startech sti11hdmi2 - hdmi 6ft - lg tv = signal
Startech say that it is not there box the probleme
onkyo say I need a amplifier signal but the startech is allready a amplifier
The seller have try the same as I do with different reciever and when he try it with the onkyo , he got the same probleme, so he say that the onkyo is not compatible.
So is there a way to make this setup works ? if the startech box is the probleme what kind of of spliter will be the solution ???
Thank you for your help

Re: onkyo ht-rc 370 with startech st122hdmi2 not compatible?
Hi Francis,
Is the "startech sti11hdmi2" some kind of HDMI splitter? If so if you bypass it and try a direct connect from source to receiver to TV do you get a signal? Does the startech stihdmi2 support hdcp?

Re: onkyo ht-rc 370 with startech st122hdmi2 not compatible?
Yes the startech is a splitter amplifier
If I bypass the splitter , everything is fine
when it was with a sony reciever with the splitter, everything was fine
for the hdcp support , on the startech web page , they say yes
if you copy this startech.com/media/products/st122hdmi2/manuals/ST122HDMI2.pdf and past on the web browser , you will find the information about it , I m not allowed to put links because I m a new member

Re: onkyo ht-rc 370 with startech st122hdmi2 not compatible?
Hi Francis,
If you bypass this device everything works as intended, which means that it is not the receiver. The EDID must be getting lost in the translation when the signal is being split. Also I did notice in their information that input number 1 passes along all the EDID information to the rest of the splitter.

Ok , so is there a way to set someting in the reciever to make it work , because it works with other kind of reciever?
If not , can you recomand a good spliter amplifier that works with the onkyo ?
Thank you

Hi Francis,
Unfortunately we do not recommend any third party splitters for HDMI.
