Hey.

I've been trying to set up my sPeakers using audyssey, But it fails again and again..
Even after the firmware update it won't listen to my rear surround speakers seperately,
but plays the sound on both speakers using surround back right, so the left speaker is not recognized...

What can I do to fix this? All speakers are working as they should, and are connected the way they should as well..

Hi peanutsNL,

How many speakers do you have connected to this unit?

I've got a 5.1 set-up.

2 towers, 1 center, 2 back, 1 sub.
No bi-wire or bi-amp..

Did you Make sure in speaker configuration you have back surround set to 2 speakers as opposed to 1? Some people have only one speaker in the rear surround, if yours is set to 1 it would explain why both of them go live at the same time. I just noticed you have a 5.1 setup in which case you would use the "surround" speaker terminals rather than the" rear surround" I would start there.

Jep..

Checked the settings once again, and already set to 2 back..
And they don't go live at the same time, but in the Same order as the rest.
Except the amp won't switch to the left channel.

Ill try your suggestion, but won't i get side-sound from my back speakers then?

If you are using a 5.1 as opposed to a 7.1 setup you will want to connect the surround speakers to the speaker terminals labeled "surround". It seems counter intuitive to set it up that way because your surround speakers happen to be behind you. do that and I bet your problem goes away.

Hi hirez24,

Thank you for the assistance. This information is also on page 13 of the owners manual.

The last manual I looked at was my Onkyo 602 many moons ago. LOL
