TX-SR605 HDMI Output lose signals, screen goes blank / blue / snow Empty TX-SR605 HDMI Output lose signals, screen goes blank / blue / snow

My Onkyo works well recently I moved it up one shelve. The HDMI out connected to the Sony XBR TV with nothing connected, the screen will be blue for 10sec, then turn darker blue for 2sec and then black in for 4 sec. Sometimes, it will be "snow".

I disconnect all HDMI input and isolate the other variables. I m pretty sure it is the HDMI processor card is not working probably. Any quick fix? Or I must go to a repair center?

Hi alanlee123,
I am going to have you run through our HDMI Checklist which can be found on our blog: http://onkyousacustomersupportblog.wordpress.com/2011/09/13/the-hdmi-checklist/
Step # 3 on this list is a reset to find out all the information you need for a reset please read our blog post on the subject: http://onkyousacustomersupportblog.wordpress.com/2011/09/12/factory-reset/
Thank you for choosing Onkyo!

TX-SR605 HDMI Output lose signals, screen goes blank / blue / snow Empty Not working

Post  alanlee123 Thu Dec 01, 2011 4:34 pm

I have done the factory reset again. 3 times, and I also change HDMI, long or short, none works. It gives me the snow, and blank screen, every 10 secs. Very upset. Is the capacitor goes wrong?

Hi
Since the reset and HDMI Checklist tips did not work it sounds like the unit needs to go in for repair. There are two things you can do:
1. You can contact a service center directly, here is a blog post with how to locate a service center: http://onkyousacustomersupportblog.wordpress.com/2011/09/13/locating-an-authorized-service-center-or-dealer/
2. You can call our parts and service department and have them assist you with service: (201) 785-2600, option 4.
They are here until 5:00 today. Thank you for contacting Product Support via our forum!

TX-SR605 HDMI Output lose signals, screen goes blank / blue / snow Empty Problems solved

Post  alanlee123 Fri Dec 02, 2011 2:37 pm

It is not Onkyo but the HDMI input of my Sony XBR not working. After I move it away from HDMI 1 and put it to side HDMI 2. Everything goes back to normal. But now I need to take my Sony TV for repair. Hope still under warranty.
