TX-NR709 Audio CD Cutouts
My new Onkyo TX-NR709 is having problems reading audio CDs. I currently have two players hooked up to my AVR: one is a LG Blu-ray player connected through HDMI using a 1.4 version HDMI cable, the other one (a Sanyo DVD player) is connected via Component cables and optical audio. Both players experience cutouts while reading audio cds. Those cutouts happen on commercial cds and home recorded cds as well. No audio cutouts when playing DVDs. I have not tested the analog audio but I will if necessary. I did not have that kind of problem with my TX-NR708 I previously used.
Could my problem be "setup" related?
Thanks

Hi laudou,
What is the sampling rate you have set on your LG blue ray player?

Re: TX-NR709 Audio CD Cutouts
Hi laudou,
Set it as high as it can go and see what happens. The NR-709 should be able to handle it.

I first tried 192 khz and the cutouts were still present. Then I tried 96 KHZ and they seemed to be less frequent but still present. I'll check the results over a longer period of time.
Thanks

No need to wait any longer. The cutouts are still very present, no matter the selected sampling rate.
Thanks

Hi laudou,
This should work. If it does not then it may need to go to a service center. They can be found on our main page under support.

This is bad news as I recently bought this AVR. Does it have any meaning if I tell you that my Sanyo DVD plays mp3 files with no cutout at all and the LG player as well. Of course, I had to set the LG sampling rate at 48 khz.

Hi laudou,
As stated previously it should work and if it does not then it will need a service center to determine the cause.
