TX-NR609 Surround (one channel not working)

Got the bundle today, put it together, and all the channels work but one the left side speaker, traded speakers around, and wires.. It seems to be the receiver somehow. Also the error started with the left side speaker, and now for some reason is moved to the right side speaker.

On another note, this receiver powered off in the middle of it's first movie.

Any ideas?

Firmware updated. Still not working.. Just FYI..

I guess it was one wire that was reversed in polarity. Not sure but this morning I powered down, disconnected everything and reconnected carefully. I would also imagine this could have also caused the shutdown.

These things have certainly changed over the last few decades.
