TX-SR803E no sound output Empty TX-SR803E no sound output

Hi!

I own a TX-SR803E for about 4 years now and lately it has this problem that no sound is comming from the speakers at all, at any mode. Some modes are not accessable, like pure audio. Strangly, it sometimes works again after leaving the unit on for a while and turning it off and back on. Ive tested all modes and inputs. The display seems to receive the signals just fine and HDMI video works well also, just no sound output..not on speakers and not on the TV.

I've bought a NR-709 as replacement but I would love to keep using the 803 in another room. Is there any way of fixing it? Is this a known problem with this unit?

Strangly the remote from the 803 has a technical problem as well, it still functions normal when pressing buttons, but the lights don't work correct. One button is always lit and the lit all buttons don't work. Also when pressing a button, it doesn't change the highlighted button.

Thank you!

Hi boss_msx,

Have you tried a factory reset of the 803 yet? To do the reset you need to turn the receiver on then on the front panel of the receiver press and hold the "VIDEO1/VCR" button while doing that press the "STANDBY/ON" button. You will see the word "Clear" in the display screen and the receiver will go into standby mode. PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT YOU WILL LOSE ALL YOUR AUDIO & VIDEO ASSIGNMENTS ON THE RECEIVER PLUS YOU WILL LOSE ALL YOUR SPEAKER CONFIGURATIONS, SPEAKER DISTANCE AND ALL LEVEL CALIBRATION SETTINGS. YOU WILL ALSO LOSE ANY PROGRAMMED RADIO STATIONS IN MEMORY. Once the receiver goes into standby mode turn it back on and go thru the setup menu for all custom settings. Unfortunately if this does not resolve the issue then the unit will need to go to a service center for further evaluation. On the remote issue you may go to our shoponkyo.com website and purchase another one as your unit is out of warranty.
