NR 609 drops video signal
I got this receiver about 2 months ago , I have been seeing this from the get go. I upgraded to the onkyo from a pioneer and never saw this issue until I did the swap so I'm thinking it is not the cables.
The video drops for about 2 sec after I have been watching TV or a DVD after about 10 min. then all is good. This happens almost every day. Tonight it dropped two times in 2 hours.
Anyone have any ideas?

Hi laserdoc,
How do you have the receiver connected to the sources? Thank you.

all HDMI's into the respected ports on the back of the unit.
Also got another one for you.
Is there a real difference between HDMI cables $ to $$$$

Re: NR 609 drops video signal
Hi laserdoc,
There used to not be any differences in HDMI cables but with newer technology the most important thing to look for is if they are High speed 1080P cables this will allow for the higher bandwidth for 3D.

Hi laserdoc,
I am going to have you run through our HDMI Checklist. This is the first step to troubleshooting HDMI Issues: http://onkyousacustomersupportblog.wordpress.com/2011/09/13/the-hdmi-checklist/ Step #3 is a reset, if you get to that step please read our blog post on the subject: http://onkyousacustomersupportblog.wordpress.com/2011/09/12/factory-reset/ This has all the information you need about the reset. Please keep us posted, thank you.

Re: NR 609 drops video signal
I replaced the cable from the TV to the 609 and also from the satellite box to the 609. No problems last night. Will have to keep watching to see if the problem comes up again. If it happens again I may run the HDMI from the TV straight to the satellite box, thus bypassing the 609 all together. IF that works then a master reset I will try.
I will keep you posted
Thanks

Re: NR 609 drops video signal
It was a cable. I replaced the one from the 609 to the TV and one from the satellite box to the 609. Had to be one of those.
Problem has gone away!
