How to get 2.1 when using radio am/fm with my tx-sr 876

For some reason i can not seem to get my sub to kick on during radio. AM or FM. I would also be interested in learning about a better AM/FM antenna. Does anyone have a suggestion?

I have the same problem with my TX-SR507 the subwoofer will not work with the radio. It will work with all other modes.

If the receiver is not detecting the bass signal it will not be able to send it out via the sub.

why would the receiver not recognize any bass signal with the radio on? I listen to mostly pop and rap stations so there is definitely bass in the music

If all other sources activate the sub then it is in the source and not something wrong with the receiver.

It would seem to me that the source is the receiver if they are talking about the integrated AM/FM tuner.

If your receiver has the double bass option ( in speaker configuration or calibration) you should turn that on and see if that works.This assumes that you have the sub connected to the sub pre out on the back of the receiver.
