TX-NR709 With Turntable
I just purchased the 709 to hook up a turntable to. Told the 709 had a preamp built in and I could hook directly to unit, output volume is low. Trying to determine if my turntable is bad or if the amp needs a preamp for the phono input. please advise.

Hi Gozen13,
Do you have the Turntable connected to the Phono input on the back of the unit? Also make sure you reference the Note section on page 19 in the owners manual.

Turntable is NOT with preamp. Technics SL-B270. It is attached to the Phono in.

Hi gozen13,
As the Phono input of the unit is amplified and you are not getting enough output even at max volume then I would suggest that there is an issue with the turntables internal preamp.

Hi gozen13,
Try a factory reset on the receiver. To do the reset you need to turn the receiver on, then on the front panel of the receiver press and hold the "VCR/DVR" button while doing that press the "STANDBY/ON" button. You will see the word "Clear" in the display screen and the receiver will go into standby mode. PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT YOU WILL LOSE ALL YOUR AUDIO & VIDEO ASSIGNMENTS ON THE RECEIVER PLUS YOU WILL LOSE ALL YOUR SPEAKER CONFIGURATIONS, SPEAKER DISTANCE AND ALL LEVEL CALIBRATION SETTINGS. YOU WILL ALSO LOSE ANY PROGRAMMED RADIO STATIONS IN MEMORY. Once the receiver goes into standby mode turn it back on and go thru the setup menu for all custom settings. See if this brings those speakers back.

We have "Cleared" the unit and it worked once. Now it has gone out and it will not work again. Please advise how to repair now.
