Wireless LAN Adapter with TX-NR709
I have only had the receiver for a few weeks. I set up the UWF-1 and I can connect to internet radio, but only 1 out of 20 tries. And even then, I lose the connection after a while. Did I waste my $ buying the wireless LAN adapter?
Thanks, Ripley

Re: Wireless LAN Adapter with TX-NR709
I just got the TX-NR809, and I also purchased the UWF-1. I am not sure if there is a huge difference between our receivers, but it took a few tries for my receiver to recognize that the UWF was plugged into my back USB, and not my front. Once I got that down I went through all the steps and then needed to download the firm ware update for the UWF to work properly. Prior to the firm ware update the UWF was not entirely working. I hope this is some help.

TX-NR709 and UWF-1
Thanks, KuifjPDX. I did read some of the discussions. It seems like Onkyo is not addressing the issue. I will call them for help, but wonder if I am wasting my time.

Re: Wireless LAN Adapter with TX-NR709
Hi ripley,
There are a lot of things to consider when setting up our UWF-1. Please let me know the following:
1. What is the make and model number of the router?
2. Are there any firewalls that are up that may be causing it to loose connection?
3. How many devices are on that router and how many are trying to use at the same time.
4. How far away do you have the router from the receiver?
5. Are there any obstructions such as walls or metallic materials in the way?

Since upgrading my 709 receiver today I can no longer see my wireless adapter. The message I get says my ethernet cable is unplugged.

Well I have it connected to the router but that's it. When you try to connect to any internet radio sites I get connecting and then back to my favorites list and a couldn't connect message server connection couldn't be established.
