Can't get ZONE 2 to operate from ANY source

I have a new TX-NR609 receiver and can't get the ZONE 2 to function. Deep in the operators manual there is notification that it will only work with analog sources. However, even if I use the component out from my Blu-Ray player, the Zone 2 doesn't work. I have tried even sending the TUNER radio and yet nothing appears in ZONE 2. I have also seen other POSTS from users stating that all of the cables they are using are HDMI and yet they use ZONE 2! Can someone provide me a step by step method to get ZONE 2 to work?

You are correct that zone 2 is only an analog connection so whatever source you want to listen to using zone to must be connected RCA red and white. Once everything is connected please make sure you have your speaker settings in the setup menu set to zone 2. All the zone 2 information can be located on page 61 of your manual.
