sound without TV (HT-S3500) Empty sound without TV (HT-S3500)

I just got my home theatre package -- HT-S3500 -- which I'm really enjoying. However, I'd like to be able to listen to music streaming through my Apple TV without needing the TV on. Is this possible? As soon as I turn the TV off, the sound cuts out. I'm using all HDMI components/connections, if it makes a difference.
